about

This track started as a short ambient snippet that evolved into a collaboration of dense electronic harmony, set amongst a steady, flowing ambience with a bit of breakbeat and house influence in between.

[XT3RM1N8R]: I had no idea that this track would have evolved into such a huge collaboration, but I'm very satisfied with what it is, especially since it's the first thing of this kind that I've ever done.

[midkay]: that's cool, i'm glad we both came out really satisfied with it. we definitely brought different twists to each other's ideas, which I think with some people leads to contention, but in this case, meshing all of our ideas seemed to go very smoothly.

[XT3RM1N8R]: yeah, this was by far one of the best collaborative projects I've worked on in terms of productivity and general cohesion. I think that we definitely helped each other out in general and were able to use our strengths to our advantage and I think that we really nailed the collaborative process.

[midkay]: did you mind having me take your initial ideas in probably some different directions than you had planned?

[XT3RM1N8R]: no, not at all; it was a surprisingly cool thing to see happen, and it opened the way for new ideas and different ways of thinking.

[midkay]: what was the most exciting part for you?

[XT3RM1N8R]: I think the most exciting part was actually learning to decide when to call a track done and determine that it was time to move on to greater things. Something can be polished endlessly, but at a certain point, it comes time to move on. It feels good to be able to call it done. It's redeeming and in some ways, liberating!
